The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Northern Ireland Screen (NIS) have announced the reopening of their funding incentive for audiovisual and interactive digital media projects between Canadian and Northern Irish producers.
The Canada-Northern Ireland Co-Development Incentive for Audiovisual Projects supports television projects in drama, documentary, animation, entertainment, and education genres, as well as digital media content like web series, video games, transmedia projects, and virtual or augmented reality.
A total of C$200,000 (approximately £136,000) is available through the incentive, with each funder contributing half of the budget. Selected projects may receive up to C$50,000 (approximately £34,000) each.
Eligible projects must involve at least one Canadian producer (eligible under CMF criteria) and one Northern Irish producer (eligible under NIS criteria).
Since its inception, the incentive has funded 25 projects, including Masters of Magic from Hopskip Studios (NI) and Epic Story Media (Canada), TV drama Godley from Village Films (NI) and Mattfilms (Canada), and animated project New Pixies from Flickerpix (NI) and Arcana Studio (Canada).
Applications must adhere to the guidelines, with a deadline of September 5, 2024, and funding decisions announced in November. If you are interested, applications are now open.
